Recently I have been developing with ActionScript 3.0 and Model View
Controller application design. The best resource for the topic is O'Reilly's
ActionScript 3.0 Design Patterns. I have learned a great deal from this book
and I would recommend it to anybody who is interested in gaining knowledge
about ActionScript or programming in general. The first step to truly
understanding this is understanding the Observer Pattern, The Composite
Pattern, and the Strategy Pattern because these are the foundations for it all.
I have spent a great deal of time setting this up and hope to add some more
things I have been/plan on doing involving Singleton Views, remoting with AMF, and Views based on turning MovieClip symbols on the stage into subscribers of the model. Feel free to bring up any criticism, questions, ideas, or examples in the area of proper execution of different combinations of patterns and application design in Flash in the comments section.
